Construction Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing detailed takeoffs, and managing contracts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on project plans and specifications.
Conduct detailed takeoffs to determine material and labor requirements.
Manage contracts and liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clarity and compliance with project specifications.
Review and analyze blueprints and project documents to identify potential issues and ensure accurate bidding.
Monitor project performance and prepare ongoing cost analysis throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Participate in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without sacrificing quality or performance.
Assist in project scheduling and coordination to align with project timelines and deliverables.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Proficiency in takeoffs and contract management is essential.
Familiarity with cost estimation and quantity surveying practices is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations is desirable.
Experience with scheduling and time management in construction projects.
